Keeps track of the calendar, serve as gatekeeper to all those who request a one-on-one because there will be far more requests than the calendar will hold. Remind the CEO of events on the calendar and take the initiative to make sure he’s prepared with the right documents and information, perhaps preparing a PowerPoint presentation for his meeting.
Corresponds directly with others who are critical to the company’s success, including other executives who will all come to know the you can be trusted to follow through.
You may handle confidential and sensitive materials, as well as those that require analyzing before composing detailed responses. Conduct research, analyze findings and report on them to others. At times, you may attend meetings alongside the CEO or even attend in his place. Act proactively and without much supervision, anticipating needs and following through. Will have tight and long-term deadlines and not be rattled due to two key personality traits: Organization and Prioritization.
Education Requirements
At least a bachelor’s degree for the top job of supporting the CEO.
PA degree(s) could be in business, business administration or another field. English is also important because excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for the job.
