Position Summary:
GJ Hopkins is searching for a responsible, motivated Mechanical Project Manager to join our well-established, growing team. The Project Manager will direct the daily activities of all assigned project operations. This position will be responsible for overseeing daily job progress, submittal development, scheduling of manpower and materials, equipment purchasing, quality assurance, cost control, and producing monthly project reports. Essential Functions:

• Manage the activities of individual project field operations to result in planned and profitable growth
• Help the Operational Manager to investigate market potential and opportunities with a view to implementing established services and recommending additional opportunities
• Evaluate and maintain employee technical competency of mechanical superintendents, foreman and field technicians
• Work with superintendents annually on job performance reviews of field personnel, making them aware of performance successes or deficiencies and informing them of promotional opportunities
• Provide assistance to other divisions to maximize company opportunities
• Maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels

Requirements:

• Have working knowledge of mechanical project management practices and their applications
• Computer literacy/Ability to continue computer education
• 3 years prior mechanical experience
• Have a successful project completion history with another mechanical contractor
• Valid Driver s License
• Attend to work assignment instructions or to supervisor s orders
• Exercise critical thinking and reasoning skills
• Execute work-place safety regulations

Travel
Travel is frequently required to and from job site locations, and to office building location.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.

Work Environment
While performing duties on this job, the employee is frequently exposed to various indoor/outdoor climate conditions and temperatures. They will also be exposed to frequent fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, etc. Noise level exceeding 85 decibels will require hearing protection. Other hazards might include electrical shock, burns, explosives, radiant energy, mechanical hazards, etc. The employee will also be exposed to general office conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will need to be able to carry up to 50 lbs, lift up to 75 lbs, and move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
