Camp Wa-Klo for Girls is looking for a Head of Outdoor Education. This job is seasonal, working at a residential all girls summer camp based in Dublin, NH. We are looking for a hard working organised individual to lead our new program. The class would involve teaching the following:
- Understand and teach LNT principles
- Plant identification
- Leading nature walks
- How to pack and prepare for campout
- How to set up a campsite
- Fire building/care/extinguishing
- Outdoor cooking
- Campsite cleanup
- Basic first-aid
- Rain plans
This would then culminate in a hike and a camp out, putting all the skills they’ve learnt all week into practice. We are looking for someone who can teach the classes and put the plans together for them each week. Leading the culminating hike and camp out. The role would also include running our other hikes and camp outs, making sure everything runs smoothly. As it is the first year we have done it we are looking for someone who can help adapt and improve the program. This position would also include teaching 2 other activities to make up your schedule.
