Position Title: Program Director

Reporting To: Executive Director

Requirements: This job is best suited for someone who has experience in counseling, teaching, coaching, mentoring or social work. A a Bachelors degree in one of these fields is required but a Masters degree is preferred. High level interpersonal skills are a must.

Position Summary: The Program Director is responsible for the implementation, management and planning of the organization’s Trail to Success, Reins of Change, Distinguished Riders, Trail Blazers and community out-reach programs in accordance with the national standards set out by the organization. In addition to core ranch programs, the Program Director will assist the Executive Director in additional counseling efforts with specific community groups monthly. Also, the Program Director will act as the liaison for county JCPCs and other funding and grant sources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General:

  • Acts as a spokesperson for the programs.
  • Executes short/long term strategic plans outlined by the ED for JCPC programs.

Human Resources:

  • Attend weekly supervision and team meetings to maintain effective communication and effective programming.
  • Submit timesheets.

Program Delivery:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the programs and services.
  • Monitor day to day delivery of the programs to maintain and improve quality.
  • Deliver curriculum for each program.
  • Attend trainings and engage in structured activities related to program development and development of program curriculum and materials. Off campus trainings are typically non-paid time.
  • Plan the delivery of programs and activities in conjunction with the co-facilitator and in accordance with goals of the JCPC program and participant’s goals.
  • Review and update program policies and procedures every 6 months under the supervision of the supervisor/ED.
  • Provide Direct and Indirect support to children and families in the JCPC program.
  • Provide and maintain all intake and termination paperwork for participants.
  • Record data including but not limited to client contact hours, case management contact dates, weekly rubrics on each child, session note completion and any other participant evaluation.
  • Maintain communication in verbal and written form with the referring agencies at a minimum of once a month.
  • Develop and execute a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the programs and identify areas of improvement under the supervision of ED.
  • Ensure the program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and the JCPC contract.
  • Ensure that the program activities comply with all relevant professional standards.
  • Develop forms and records to document program activities.
  • Oversee the collection of records for the client’s of the program.
  • Ensure the program operates within the approved JCPC budget in collaboration with the ED.
  • Monitor program activities on a regular basis.
  • Adhere to the following deadlines for Trail to Success and Reins of Change programs:
  • Make client contact within 10 days of receiving a referral
  • Follow up with referring agency within 48 hours of a no show, unreachable referral, termination or enrollment of participant.
  • Create with co-facilitator a personalized treatment plan by the third week of participation for each client.
  • Enroll participant in NCALLIES database after intake and/or 1st initial session.
  • Discharge a client in NCALLIES within 7 days of satisfactory/successful completion of program.
  • Discharge a client in NCALLIES after 6 weeks of no shows or unsuccessful attempts to reach family and/or referring agency. Discharge date is the last date the child attended the program for face to face hours.
  • Contact referring agency about child’s progress a minimum of once per month and record contact in written form to be placed in client’s file.
  • Contact child’s parent a minimum of twice a month if they have not participated in at least 3 check in/check outs during weekly sessions.
  • Record client contact hours weekly.
  • Submit T2S and ROC caseload reports to ED by last day of month. Submit Granville reports to JCPC secretary digitally 3 days prior to county meeting.
  • Attend monthly JCPC meetings for each county and prepare caseload reports by deadline.

Community Relations / Advocacy:

  • Represent the organization at community activities related to programs to enhance the organization’s community profile.
  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, school counselors and educators, court counselors, law enforcement and JCPC officials. Introducing them to the program and encouraging referrals.
  • Meet with Granville and Franklin County schools counselors, Department of Social Services and Court Counselors once a year to review program updates.

Communications, Development & Marketing

  • Provide social media inspirational updates when applicable.
  • Provide bi-monthly (6 times per year) inspirational stories from programming and format in digital newsletter. Can be written or video format.
  • Compile statistical data of success rates for annual impact report (once per year).
  • Update program related information (and occasionally other information) on website using wordpress.
  • Complete Distinguished Riders reoccurring grant once per year (due in September each year).
  • Recruit, train and shepherd interns and volunteers for program committees, session leaders, parent buddies and session helpers.
  • Provide creative vision and solutions to enhance programs.
  • Assist the ED with visionary goals for programs.

HOURS:

Monday-Friday majority are flexible hours. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays direct programming after school hours from 4:00-6:00. 12 Saturdays out of the month in the Spring and Fall.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $32,000.00 to $35,000.00 /year
