Director of Network Architecture

We are seeking a Director of Network Architecture to manage architecture and strengthen the position in delivering private and public cloud infrastructure services for all offices globally for this leading Insurance firm. This position will play a strategic role in designing and enhancing the Hybrid cloud Network Infrastructure (On-Prem, Azure, and AWS) including but not limited to IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services that can be leveraged to deliver services to the company.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various Networking Technologies (Data and Security), cloud computing, and technology systems, as well as experience in architecting and integrating the infrastructure for migration of applications to various cloud services. The Director, Network Architecture will work with various teams across the globe to define the approach for sustaining the on premise infrastructure stack, cloud migration opportunities and approach, reviewing existing implementation, and recommending strategies to improve resiliency, simplicity, and cost optimization.

This position will work very closely with the VP, Chief Technology Officer of Corporate Infrastructure and the Global Corporate IT organization and will be an integral part of the Infrastructure Services and Operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing the strategic vision of core-networking infrastructure at the datacenters (On-Prem & Public Cloud), operations, and business centers along with access for customer sites
• Establish the principles for the network design and deployment, resolve business processes and efficiency needs, and participate in the selection of networking technologies and products for implementation
• Analyze technical needs, requirements, and the network’s infrastructure design, integration, and operations
• Continually update business and technology statuses and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves
• Regularly evaluate Network Infrastructure and Integrated Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Automation, Governance, Compliance, and Management Solutions to ensure adherence to Governance, Compliance, and Security standards
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of cloud and infrastructure development efforts, execute Proof-Of-Concepts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility

• Work closely with the IT security group to monitor the company’s cloud privacy; actively contribute to and support various Infrastructure Audits (SOC2, Customer, and Vendors audits)
• Understand the business strategy and communicate effectively with senior business leaders and C-level executives

Required Skills/Experience

• 10+ years of related experience and solid understanding of network and data center architecture, including cloud architectures in design, implementation, and operations such as AWS and Azure
• Familiarity with IT governance standards and compliance including ITIL, PCI, and SOC
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and unsupervised
• Ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization

Desired Skills/Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in leading & managing a Network Architecture team or services group (Data, Security and Voice Infrastructure Services)
• 10+ years’ experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise and global scale
• Validated knowledge of network technologies through achievement of Cisco CCDE, CCIE and other professional certifications
• Ability to multi-task, meet project-specific deadlines, work in a team, and produce results independently
• Strong working knowledge of business and coordination of people and resources
• Knowledge of networking infrastructure suppliers and service offerings including Cisco, Silverpeak, F5 Networks, Citrix Netscalers, PaloAlto, Checkpoint, British Telecom, Verizon, and VMware
• Firewalls/IPS, load balancers, and WAN optimization (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, ISE, ACI, Citrix Netscalers, F5 )
• Networking Protocols, design and products: Ethernet, IP, switching, routing, spanning tree, OTV, LISP, FabricPath
• Cisco: Nexus Spine & Leaf architectures, UCS, Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), SD-WAN, Wireless
• Voice: Cisco Call manager, UCaaS Platforms (MS Teams, Ring Central, Fuze, Nice InContact, Zoom)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or relevant field
