Summary

The Director of Photography will drive conceptual design and versatile imagery within complex Photographic Production projects to meet the objectives for Workshop clients. The Director of Photography is both a creative and technical leadership role of discipline of photography and not an executive-level leadership position.

This role requires an innovative approach to bringing the clients vision to life consistently and successfully. This role will build a reputation for Production excellence and contribute to the success of the team. The Director of Photography’s attention to detail both technically and creatively while delivering engaging work will be a differentiating factor in the overall success of Workshop clients.


This position is located in Lake Placid, NY.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsible for translating the client’s needs into compelling and effective imagery within budget, on time and with excellent quality
  • Execute film and video production both on and off-site
  • Develop sizzle reels, pitches, case studies, marketing pieces, and day-to-day social videos
  • Execute all production aspects including pre-production, post production, writing, shooting, editing, and selection of music with the Photography team, in accordance with the client expectation and Workshop’s strategy to deliver that client expectation
  • Continuing to learn and drive forward conceptual design and versatile imagery, still and motion, to deliver on behalf of the agency and its clients
  • Participate in collaboration cross-functionally within Workshop to ensure cohesion of message and style across the Photographic Production lifecycle, and across the Workshop functions/departments
  • Publish video content across online video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and GoogleDrive)
  • Ensure appropriate lifecycle management of all multimedia content (capture of media/cataloging/use/obsolesce)

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or Broadcasting and Electronic Media, or a degree in a related subject, like photography or film studies – desired
  • Proven success with cameras, stabilization systems, lenses, composition, and lighting techniques – required
  • Mastery of video content production including editing (color correction, grading and audio mixing) – required
  • Proven success delivering complex Photographic projects – required
  • History of delivering satisfied client’s utilizing IT software: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc. – required
  • Repeatedly demonstrating excitement with excessive and detailed shoots on set – required
  • Demonstrated relentless focus on delivering photography excellence – required
  • Proven history collaborating with clients and colleagues – required
