    General Description: Develops and maintains account relationships (credit and non-credit). Works closely with Branch personnel in selling deposit related products. Loan activity is primarily commercial and commercial real estate loans and is focused in the most complex credits handled by the Bank. May be the primary contact for participation loans from other banks. Has a thorough understanding of commercial real estate underwriting, appraisals, and common practices in the finance industry. Sales activities include building a network of referral sources, following up on accounts referred by Department Manager or other senior officers, and outside calling activities to generate new relationships in loans and deposits. Generally requires prior commercial lending experience of 7-10 years.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities required: A general knowledge about banking functions gained from work experience and experience in most areas of lending. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is desirable but not required. College level courses in Accounting, Financial Analysis, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Lending, Commercial Lending, and Business Law, or a demonstrated understanding of these areas gained from years of experience.

    Skilled in use of Personal Computer applications including Word, Excel, Internet applications, and others. Also, skilled in use of a financial applications calculator like the HP12C model.

    Essential abilities: (1) Clear and precise writing to prepare Loan Approval Write-ups, Letters to prospects and customers, and internal memos. (2) Reading skills to interpret documents, procedural manuals, regulatory data, and Bank policies. (3) Financial analysis skills should be demonstrated in all phases of commercial lending including real estate. (4) Demonstrated ability to conduct face to face calls on prospects/customers and present a positive image for the Bank. (5) Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable lending and deposit laws and regulations according to bank policy.

    Essential Functions: Acquire and analyze loan applications and make timely decisions or recommendations regarding loan size, terms, and pricing. Regularly contact customers to maintain relationships and assure presentation of appropriate products to fulfill needs. Be proactive in customer service, resolve problems, and develop inquiries into opportunities. Call on referral sources and prospects regularly to generate new business in both loan and deposit area.

    Working Conditions: General office environment. Some activities outside of normal banking hours to meet prospects, customers, or special bank functions.
