The role of Commercial Portfolio Lender is to handle all private and confidential correspondence with the client and the supporting team in order to maintain a positive experience with the client. It is important to establish and maintain working relationships with realtors, CPA’s, Attorney’s and title agencies. Additionally, to be successful as the Commercial Portfolio Lender, one should thoroughly understand regulatory, legislative and technology changes that affect commercial lending. This position requires a high level of experience in all areas of commercial lending and the ability to perform all tasks related to the day-to-day production of a commercial lender.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelorâs degree or equivalent, minimum five years’ experience, with a heavy focus on banking, specifically in commercial lending. Understanding of the full lending process; inception to completion, preferred. Excellent phone and customer service skills. Excellent human relation and communication skills. Advanced skill set in word, excel and power point.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines. Superior customer service skills. A flexible schedule to meet with clients when needed. Flexibility to travel, throughout the state for client meetings and time at the corporate office in Harbor Springs. Thorough understanding of banking regulations, credit analysis, sales techniques, and loans. Knowledge of banking deposit product sales. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve. Ability to work with minimal supervision. The ability to think proactively.
