    The following statements are intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this position.     General Summary:
    Responsible for supporting the President in leading and managing all aspects of the licensed, statutory rating organization for workers compensation insurance in the State of Indiana. Provide direction to staff to ensure the delivery of quality and timely professional services to ICRB’s broad membership and customer base. Like a small business partner, the Vice President is actively and directly involved in most aspects of running the organization.

    Essential Functions:

    • Direct oversight of Analyst associates who are responsible for experience rating, ownership, classification, inspection/audit and residual market applications;
    • Provide technical assistance to complex questions regarding rules and procedures for writing workers compensation insurance, acting as a subject matter expert;
    • Direct the administration of the Experience Rating function to maximize understanding and awareness, and to assure consistent implementation of the experience rating process;
    • Facilitate dispute resolution cases;
    • Work collaboratively with the VP of Finance on the annual budget preparation process; Work closely with the senior management team to establish cost effective operations and resources management through analysis, development and recommendations of budgetary and capital expenditure proposals;
    • Manage ICRB business insurance to transfer risk through cost effective insurance coverage’s;
    • Monitor the effectiveness of short, intermediate, and long-range plans and goals through analysis of key metrics;
    • Provide leadership, motivation and guidance to staff members to maintain an office environment that fosters professionalism, communication, teamwork and improvement;
    • Assist the President in Indiana Pool and Plan Administration, the assigned risk market financial functions, reinsurance program, and the administration of technical matters relating to Pool financials, rules, standards, servicing carrier bids, and member communications;
    • Educational resource to staff, insurance companies, agents, Department of Insurance representatives and other stake holders on new and existing statutes, rules, etc.;

    • Effectively lead special projects to achieve organizational objectives where cost, quality and timeliness of services are pivotal to ICRB’s objectives;
    • Develop and maintain action plans and strategies to meet ICRB’s objectives;
    • Work closely with the President and VP of Finance to identify projects that will provide on-going improvements to ICRB operational processes, with the intent to improve efficiencies and value-added services to customers;
    • Speak before interested groups and represent the ICRB as a public relations representative;
    • Participate in Governing Board meetings.

    _Knowledge and Skill Qualifications: _
    _ _ * Thorough knowledge of Indiana’s workers compensation environment, statutes, rules, principles and coverage’s;

    • Strong knowledge of classification, inspection, experience rating, ownership, and manual rules;
    • General knowledge of most aspects of running a small business including HR, IT, accounting, vendor utilization, etc.;
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise effective human relation skills with ICRB team, customers, and vendors;
    • Excellent oral and written communications, listening, presentation and public speaking skills and abilities;
    • Facilitation or dispute resolution skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and job-related software;
    • Documented ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks with strong project management skills;
    • Undergraduate degree or the equivalent professional experience or a combination of education and experience.

    Tools/Equipment Used to Perform/Complete Duties/Tasks

    • Uses computer software (Windows applications: Microsoft Office Word, Excel,

    SharePoint, Adobe, etc.), telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, mailing machine

    • NCCI’s Basic Manual, NCCI’s Scopes Manual, NCCI’s Experience Rating Plan Manual,

    Indiana Workers Compensation Law Book, Policy Guide (online), Indiana Pool trust documents.

    _Working Conditions: _
    _ _ * Work is performed in both a corporate office (2 days) and home office (3 days).
    Costs associated with working from home are the responsibility of the employee.

    • Occasional overnight travel required

    Supervision Exercised: Responsible for supervising Analyst personnel.
