ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: – Work with regional field service and repair center leaders to forecast service parts demand and drive initiatives to improve forecast accuracy – Service liaison to partner with Global Supply Chain in service PSI meetings and ensure on time delivery of parts to meet the needs of internal and external customers around the world – Develop and implement a service part strategy to optimize the inventory and category across headquarters, regional warehouses, and regional Service teams – Manage, maintain and update the service parts and FRU list – Partner with Product Management, Engineering and Supply Chain to manage product life cycle of service parts – Collaborate with Global Product Support and regional service teams to meet the parts demand of servicing new and existing products – Work with Tech Support, Service Coordination, Shipping and Field Service to streamline the order management process for service parts and optimize the car stock – Drive ERP, e.g., SAP, and other IT improvements to incorporate latest service parts and availability into the service and supply chain workflow – Drive process and reliability improvement with Engineering, Supply Chain and Service to reduce out of box failure of service parts – Understand different import and export regulations in high growth markets, including APAC, Africa and Mideast. Collaborate with Global Trade Compliance and Global Logistics teams to develop regional service parts logistics strategy in order to support the international business expansion – Develop service parts management and pricing strategy for distributors in the indirect markets – Establish standard work to quote and ship service parts internationally to direct and indirect service regions. Optimize workflow, reduce lead time, improve OTD, save shipping and duty costs for service parts – Evaluate optimal parts shipment routing to manage cost and efficiency of global parts distribution in coordination with regional leadership and logistics teams – Evaluate and manage logistic hubs with supply chain, monitor and reporting inventory levels at authorized service providers, global Cepheid and distributor warehouse – Drive improvement in parts returns process with a focus on indirect markets MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree in related field with 6+ years related work experience OR – Master’s degree in field with 4+ years of related work experience HIGHLY PREFERRED – Experience in supply chain, material management, parts or inventory planning preferably in medical device, diagnostics or life science industries – Experience in working in or closely with global field service team and understand their parts and inventory challenges – Experience in driving IT system improvement/enhancement, such as SAP ERP, to improve service and/or supply chain processes – Strong analytical skills to interpret data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations – Experience in dealing with international shipping and logistics in high growth markets – Comfortable working in a metric-oriented, result-driven and fast-paced organization – Experience in driving process improvement successfully in global service or supply chain organizations – Speak both languages of service and supply chain and demonstrated leadership and communication skills to bring cross functional teams together and solve business problems. – Customer oriented mindset Travel – 30%
