AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that is dedicated to closing the opportunity, expectation, and achievement gaps in education by partnering with schools all over the country to prepare students for college, careers, and life. This is accomplished by providing professional development to educators to support their efforts in the classroom, ultimately empowering students with strategies and skills that improve how they learn, question, and work together. With AVID’s mission to expand its reach, each department—from Information Technology to Events, Accounting to Business Services—is finding strategies to operationalize that goal in what they do. This is where our Project Managers play a crucial role in our organization, ensuring the successful planning, management, and execution of the portfolio of projects.
AVID Center is looking for an innovative, adaptable, and passionate Senior Project Manager to lead our Project Management Office (PMO), which has recently entered its second year. You will help develop the road map for 2020 and beyond and build upon the solid foundation of established processes with best practices. Ideal candidates are not only experienced in portfolio management, but also have high leadership and relational capacities and are able to have fun and create memorable experiences in the office environment. They are flexible to meet people and projects where they are at, open to understanding, learning, and growth, and passionate about finding solutions that will elevate the work of the PMO.
