  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Partners with site leaders on development and monitoring of career and succession planning initiatives
  • Provides employee counseling and oversees disciplinary action and assures fair and equitable treatment throughout the organization.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results for site HR to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Administers the annual associate engagement survey and assist leaders in developing action plan(s) to deliver year over year improvements.
  • Develops and /or delivers training programs in compliance with corporate training initiatives; including annual compliance training. Work closely with site leadership teams to identify workforce development opportunities. Pursue grant opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor for success, site HR metrics and continuously pursue opportunities for improvement in the HR organization, processes, procedures and cost effectiveness.
  • Drives recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns/Co-Ops, and temporary employees
  • Drive site diversity and equal employment opportunity initiatives in accordance with the AAP goals.
  • Effectively supervises and develops HR team; including providing timely performance feedback and recognition.
  • Develops and administers labor relations plans and strategy for the site.
  • Plans, organizes, supervises and controls all activities of the labor relations function.
  • Analyzes and interprets the intent, spirit and terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Participates in long-term planning and implementation of the CBA as it relates to labor relations.
  • Directs grievances, arbitrations and any dispute resolution process in accordance with the CBA and provides possible resolutions to issues.
  • Provides training and coaching to all levels of management on labor relations.
  • Advises associates and leaders on new and proposed changes to the Company’s policies and practices.
  • Monitors implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions to ensure compliance to CBA terms.
  • Leads preparation and administration of labor contract negotiations, including recommending and identifying bargaining issues.
  • Timely completion of fact finding investigates following concerns and complaints raised by represented / non-represented employees.
  • Implements and annually updates labor relations program in accordance with corporate guidelines; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; administration of the local labor agreement.
  • Leads workforce planning events, including layoffs, recalls and hires as business needs dictate.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (List the minimum qualifications and experience this position requires. Only list those areas that are essential to this position. Be as specific as possible, i.e. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, 5 – 7 years relevant work experience).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field
  • Preferred Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Labor Relations or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in human resources with minimum two (2) years in union manufacturing labor relations focus
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures and practices involved in human resource competencies
  • Ability to build trust and strong partnerships with all levels of management and employees
  • Experience in conflict resolution methods, including facilitation.
  • Proven record of excellent organizational, communication and time management abilities
  • Contract administration and negotiating experience
  • Prior manufacturing HR experience required
  • Experience implementing continuous improvements
