Position Overview:

Our Sales Team is seeking to hire a Regional Sales Manager with at least 5 years of experience to join our Rochester office.

The focus of this role is to develop the Upstate New York Territory by acquiring new clients and developing SMP’s current client base by driving hardware, software and solutions sales and assisting the team to position SMP’s unique value proposition. The Regional Sales Manager will lead, coach and motivate others to drive successful outcomes with our SLED, commercial and enterprise customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, coach and mentor a team of sales professionals to deliver solutions and sustained business value to SMP customers and prospects across the territory.
  • Achieve annual goals, drive customer satisfaction, delivery strategic competitive wins, and build/develop a high performing team.
  • Increase SMP’s revenue and gross profit by driving a pipeline in your territory and managing and developing a team of field sales representatives to achieve their goals and sales objectives.
  • Develop and execute against a strong sales management process through key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Create and implement a business strategy to expand revenue & profit in the territory.
  • Drive business through existing relationships.
  • Ensure sales targets are consistently met and exceeded.
  • Analyze KIPIs to identify trends and forecast sales results.
  • Act as an escalation point to customers, both internal & external, to constantly improve the customer experience.
  • Work closely with practice group leaders on sales strategy, customer touch, sales results and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain current product and industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strategic sales/sales management experience within the Information Technology or VAR industry, selling strategic services and solutions to the end user.
  • Ability to drive a pipeline in the territory.
  • Ability to create a sales and execution strategy for solutions.
  • Proven track record of developing and achieving sales plans.
  • Proven track record of achieving high employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong background working with CRM applications.

Preferred Skills/Certifications (if applicable):

  • Direct sales and management experience with Cisco, Dell, EMC and/or VMWare highly desired.
  • Professional certifications (i.e. Cisco, Dell, EMC, VMWare).

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While a largely sedentary role, some lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds may occasionally be required.
  • Travel to customer/prospect locations, as requested.
