We are looking for a self-motivated Project Manager to work out of the Florida area TEAM to ensure each of their assigned projects are executed safely and efficiently. Project Managers at CROM are responsible for coordinating preconstruction efforts between drafting, engineering, purchasing, and risk management on each project. Once construction begins, the PM assists our Superintendents and field crews in execution of the project.

Position Description: Project Manager I

Location: Crom Corporate Office, Gainesville, FL

Reports to: Construction Services Manager

Salary: $55,000-$70,000 Annually

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Type: Full Time

Job Purpose

Management of all assigned projects to meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements from post-bid phase through construction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Management Responsibilities:
a. Prepare startup packages including contract documentation, job cost and budget information and project documents for on-site Superintendents.
b. Prepare project schedules based on project requirements.
c. Coordinate with the assigned Draftsman in the preparation of shop drawings, formwork drawings and other drawings for use in construction.
d. Review shop drawings after production by Drafting to assure conformity with project plans and specifications.
e. Coordinate with subcontractors and the Purchasing Department to gather submittals for all parts of the project to meet the requirements of the plans and specifications.
f. Prepare, transmit, and track submittal packages for projects based on project requirements.

g. Review Bill of Materials, Purchase Orders and Work Orders and approve material procurement for each project.
h. Visit project site during initial site preparation and construction as required.
i. Review and report on project cost information on a monthly basis.
j. Perform the following project related duties during the construction of the project:
i. Safety inspections
ii. Quality control inspections
iii. Job cost review
iv. Revision of schedule and budget goals for the project
k. Maintain contact with the project superintendent to stay apprised of construction progress.
l. Facilitate timely closeout of projects by coordinating submission of all necessary documentation for project completion.

2. Active participation in monthly department meetings and completion of assigned department responsibilities.

3. Professional Conduct/Development:

a. Build professional and technical knowledge through continuing education including reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and educational workshops at the direction of the department manager.
b. Maintain and enhance the Company’s image by their personal demeanor and methods of conducting business.

4. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements

  • High motivation level and strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent Project Management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance. .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concrete industry experience.
  • Proficiency using MS Project.
  • CAPM Certification.
  • Proficiency in Project Management software.
  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification.

Working Conditions

  • Travel: This position will require that the Project Manager travel in the assigned territory approximately 1–3 days per week as dictated by the number of projects in the area at any given time and as required by the Area Manager.
  • Projects in other areas/territories and with other Area Managers may be assigned as fluctuations occur in the workload of the assigned Area Manager.
  • Extended work hours are required as necessary to meet project deadlines.
