Maintenance Director – Carlsbad, CA (Travel Required)

Maintenance Director (Travel throughout Southern CA is required for this position)

The Maintenance Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant the interior and exterior of the Community to maintain proper operations of the property. They will oversee the general operations of the maintenance department and housekeeping department to ensure that the property is maintained in a safe, clean and comfortable manner in accordance with property policies and procedures.

This position will require travel throughout our Southern California communities during the first few months of employment. The position will be solely based out of the Carlsbad community once the community opens. The right candidate will reside in Southern California near Carlsbad, CA. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone willing to travel temporarily and open up a couple of brand new communities prior to opening the community in Carlsbad, CA.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer minimum two (2) years’ experience in residential maintenance and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and structural matters.
• Knowledge of building construction, budgeting, expense management preventative maintenance software, and basic computer skills.
• Prefer at least one (1) year experience supervising and managing employees.

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer two (2) years experience in the building industry, maintenance and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
• Prefer one (1) year experience supervising and managing employees
• Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care
• Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals
• Able to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations and prioritize tasks and projects.
