Job Summary
Blessed Extracts is seeking a detailed oriented Inventory and Packaging Manager to join our dynamic team in Davis, CA. The Inventory and Packaging Manager is responsible for managing the packaging team, packaging cannabis products, fulfilling orders, ordering packaging materials, reporting and monitoring retail-ready product inventory. The Inventory and Packaging Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations and efficiently handle the company’s products and supply, and the workflow of the packaging department. You will also be responsible for maintaining shelf stocks and menu accuracy through the implementation of effective methods and rigorous coordination while strictly adhering to state rules and regulations.

A successful candidate is a reliable professional with excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, record-keeping abilities and a business mindset. The goal is to ensure products are packaged professionally, efficiently, compliantly, accurately and on time, while maintaining and reporting accuracy of inventory.

Job Responsibilities

  • Insure Inventory transactions are entered and updated in a timely fashion
  • The packaging of finished cannabis products
  • Keep team on task and quickly address issues of productivity and quality control
  • Communicate with Director of Operations to determine the order of product packaging priorities
  • Manage labeling and packaging process and confirm that all new packaging and labeling is compliant and accurate prior to distribution, keeping packaging and labeling mistakes under 2 percent
  • Identify and resolve any packaging and labeling mistakes prior to distribution
  • Manage the fulfilment of retail orders on time and accurately
  • Email COAs to retailers as dictated by specific retail orders in prior to distribution
  • Perform bi-weekly inventory of retail-ready products and packaging materials for review by Compliance Manager
  • Keep inventory mistakes and errors under 2 percent
  • Attend Weekly Staff Meetings and report on department updates, issues and goals
  • Train new employees as needed
  • Participate in planning and execution of testing and packaging of cannabis products
  • Create and maintain necessary records and inventory reports for all cannabis products and packaging materials
  • Perform inventory and miscellaneous analysis as needed
  • Coordinate communication between departments regarding inventory movement including packaging, testing, waste and more
  • Coordinate the procurement of packaging supplies as needed
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations regarding buying, when to buy, when received and invoice approval
  • Maintain internal tracking document for all procurement
  • Learn various internal Inventory Control Systems including Trellis
  • Learn and maintain continual awareness and understanding of complete set of specific labeling and packaging rules and regulations determined by state law
  • Collaborate with and make recommendations to the Director of Operations for continual improvement of policies and procedures as related to the Packaging Department
  • Ensure packaging team keeps packaging and inventory rooms tidy and clean

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing/packaging
  • 3+ years’ supervisory/management experience
  • Must have the ability to develop and foster strong working relationships throughout all levels of the company
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills; the ability to either predict and/or identify and drive problem/issue to resolution in partnership with Director of Operations
  • Excellent packaging skills and dexterity
  • Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload with tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Works well under pressure and flexible to last minute changes
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel/Spreadsheets and Google Docs
  • Basic graphic design and industrial printing experience (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Illustrator and/or Photoshop (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of all California cannabis packaging and labeling regulations
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The work environment and physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The inventory and packaging rooms are kept at 55 and 65-70 degrees (Fahrenheit) respectively to ensure the products are kept at optimal temperature to maintain our quality promise to our customers. You will be exposed to these temperatures for extended periods of time. Most of your work will be conducted in the packaging room at 65-70 degrees.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel and is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee is required to sit at the computer for extended periods.
