Overview

We’re looking for a self-starting professional with strong managerial experience and a proven track record in hotel sales. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with the ability to quickly analyze hotel and market information to determine where to find the best sales opportunities to grow business. The DOS will lead a team to execute these sales strategies to achieve hotel revenue goals on our shortened sales cycle.

The Director of Sales is responsible for the new client implementation process and ensuring a successful launch of the clients first 100 days into our Sales for Hire program.

This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales action plans for new hotel clients based on analysis of their local market drivers, hotel needs, past and current production, STR performance, and various other industry data.
  • Identify and action key activities to shorten the sales cycle and maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues in the first 30 days.
  • Own the communication with the new client throughout the implementation process to gather additional information, manage expectations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Lead the development of the sales assessment, action plan and prioritized prospecting list ensuring a success plan for hotel launch as well and the dedicated Area Sales Manager.
  • Present and deliver sales assessment to client for buy in and approval on recommendations and key priorities.
  • Maintain a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement by effectively leading and developing the new client implementation team
  • Evolve new client implementation/onboarding process for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and provide weekly reporting to keep leadership team updated and apprised of progress and sales performance
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish successful support and partner programs

Requirements

  • A highly-respected hotel sales professional with significant Brand experience who will model the values of the Gillis Team and continue to foster collaboration and trust throughout the team.
  • Proven “hunter” with superior knowledge of various brands, markets and demand generators
  • Minimum 3 years Hotel Sales Experience, previous DOS experience preferred
  • Local market awareness and experience in all market segments and 3rd party programs, with a focus on Business Travel.
  • Success leading a team of 5 + salespeople
  • Involvement in managing key customer relationships, key Brand relationships and closing strategic opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadership
