General Summary of Position:
The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Operations supports the business operations and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team with extensive background in the areas of safety, quality, and profitability results based on company objectives. The EVP of Operations manages all activities related to Operations; this includes Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, IT (Information Technology), EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety), Facilities and Maintenance.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, will contribute to strategic goal setting, decisions regarding long- range organizational goals and objectives, problem resolution, and advising to ensure appropriate allocation of organizational resource and continual operational effectiveness in support of the business’s strategic plans.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic partner to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team
- Provides input to the strategic business plans, including the operating budget
- Recommends long term solutions that will drive operational efficiencies and profitability
- Develops and maintains business plans in alignment with company strategy and objectives for Operations
- Ensures that strategic business plans and budgets are communicated to the appropriate functions
- Oversee and directs capital upgrades and projects
- Support and enforce quality system and regulatory policies, work instructions, and applicable regulatory requirements as set forth by the Quality Management System
- Establish production and quality standards, develops budget and cost controls
- Identify risk; ensures risks are understood, managed, and, when appropriate, communicated
- Drive the development, initiation, and/or improvement of processes, equipment, or technology
- Ensure the supply chain systems are on a continuous path to improvement, that align with the company’s overall business strategy
- Responsible to create savings within supply chain and ensure MCNA is aggressively pursuing cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure MCNAs technological infrastructure is operating at peak performance, at all times
- Ensure MCNA has suitable technology in place that will streamline all internal operations and help optimize MCNA strategic benefits
- Oversee and direct all activities related to enhancing the organizations technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience both internally and externally
- Ensures MCNA is committed to providing a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment
- Oversees the development of all environmental health and safety programs
- Ensures all established safety, cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met
- Oversees the development and maintenance of process plans for Operations
- Directs facilities renovation, expansion, and/or build out as needed
- Directs maintenance activities including preventive maintenance, repair, installation, inspection, improvement, and relocation of equipment
- Directs the Operations Management team to obtain optimum production and utilization of people and equipment, while adhering to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Directs and provides guidance, as necessary, to the directors, managers, and supervisors regarding attainment of company goals and objectives
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
- Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the President and CEO and other leadership
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management
- May represent MCNA Operational team at international meetings, including global steering committee meetings, board of directors’ meetings or global strategic meetings
- Collaboration within functional areas of sister companies worldwide
- Proactively builds and maintains business relationships
- Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering or related field
- At least 10 years of industry-related experience in Operations, i.e. manufacturing, supply chain, administration or related field
- 5 – 10 years’ leadership experience
- Must have experience in change management strategies; plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are important as this position interacts and prepares reports for various levels of management
- Must be willing to travel locally and internationally
- Ability to manage difficult situations
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time, problem solve, and work as part of a team are crucial.
