Overview:
Leads, develops and participates in strategies to ensure sales initiatives achieve business results and are aligned with the cooperative’s mission and business objectives across all product divisions. Provides leadership & expertise in the areas of sales by participating in the process of helping the product division teams be successful.
Leads and champions Agfinity’s Microsoft Dynamics (CRM) in support of both business to business and business to consumer CRM applications across multiple business units. Manages all efforts related to CRM enhancements by being the champion of CRM with all sales staff across product divisions.
Essential Duties:
Sales Leadership and Development
- In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, sets the overall direction, strategy and management of sales functions across all product divisions. Leads and develops product division sales managers; fostering excellence, supporting professional development contributing to the growth of the company and living the brand. Ensures sales position hires are based on integrity, energy, optimism, business savvy and a sense of curiosity.
- Develops a sales plan that has sufficient leads to meet the cooperative’s annual sales goals. Works the plan daily by traveling with their teams to coach on positioning when they are with customers, being active participants on calls/on-site visits, insuring that all sales managers are familiar with Agfinity’s programs and coaching/mentoring on handling the most difficult customer interactions.
- Identifies opportunities and provides guidance, coaching and training to improve or develop product services strategies to highlight impact and value necessary to assure market leadership. Establishes realistic activity requirements to achieve the desired outcome. Ensures sales team accountability for company resources.
CRM Leadership
- Champions our Microsoft Dynamics solution to ensure it provides both flexibility and stability for the business units and solution user groups.
- Works with the Marketing function to facilitate marketing automation integration, campaign management and other marketing user role centric support.
- Provides training and education for new users and for existing users as the system evolves and grows. Conducts regular user training with sales staff.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales or related field required
- Valid Driver’s License required
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years experience, in a series of progressively responsible sales positions.
- Experience in agricultural related field preferred
- Experience training new uses in the Microsoft Dynamics platform preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business development, strategic analysis and positions, new product launches
- Knowledge of corporate P&L management
- Solid understanding of CRM solutions planning, administration and maintenance
- Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and work flow
- Ability to work as a member of a team and coordinate efforts to implement organization strategy
- Advanced project management skills to plan, implement, monitor progress and take corrective actions for sales and CRM projects
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to divide attention, keep rapid momentum, and provide direction for multiple unrelated issues and initiatives simultaneously
- Able to think and act at both the conceptual and the tactical level
- Proficient with standard business computer software applications
- Attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and vendors
- Strong listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to strengthen relationships between all levels of staff
- Ability to set goals and objectives, prioritize and assign resources to successfully achieve goals
- Analytical skills to interpret reports and technical information to form conclusions and/or make recommendations
- Ability to prospect for business, generate leads and create and influence opportunities
