The Director Lean Master partners with senior leaders and department leaders to drive breakthrough improvements in operational quality and efficiency. Serves as a mentor and developer of all positions within the department. Emphasis will be placed on Lean Strategy development; the deployment of Lean methodology; change management; and problem solving.

Essential Functions

  • Creates, oversees and manages large scale, high-priority process improvement initiatives to include implementing a change management culture to all levels of the organization.
  • Leads process improvement and change management implementations using advanced Lean tools and methods.
  • Coaches high and mid-level executives on Lean leadership and managing culture change.
  • Plays key role in the development and maintenance of methodology and approaches.
  • Creates inventive, non-traditional approaches, to lead the industry.
  • Emphasis on use and training of simple through complex Lean tools and methods including strategy deployment.


Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting reaching. Must lift a minimum of 15 pounds shoulder high. Must speak English in simple, understandable terms and have an intact sense of sight and hearing. Must be able to respond quickly in critical situations. Must be mobile within the entire System.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors Degree required.

Masters Degree preferred.

Healthcare experience required.

Direct supervision experience required.

Extensive experience in Lean methods, strategies and philosophies required.

Experience with A3 problem solving and 3P methods preferred.

10+ years experience in Lean Team Leadership and basic Six Sigma.

Operations management experience preferred. Effectively led 100+ Kaizen Events.

Demonstrated track record of achieving breakthrough results through implementation of large-scale projects and value-added change. Demonstrates competency in strategy deployment and change management tools and techniques.
