Business Analyst-RRP, Vice President

State Street is seeking a Vice President-level Business Analyst in the Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) Shared Services team. Recovery and resolution planning is required by regulators in the U.S. and internationally; as a result, the RRP Office interacts with a broad range of stakeholders in business areas and corporate functions across State Street’s organization

The role includes a broad range of activities as part of the RRP Office in close coordination with various stakeholders in business areas and corporate functions across State Street’s organization, with the objective to effectively document the required recovery and resolution plan filings. In addition, this position involves providing presentations to executive management on plan updates and key decisions, as well as preparing time-sensitive responses to regulator inquiries.

In order to be effective in this positon, the incumbent must have the ability to manage competing priorities, while bringing a thoughtful approach and sense of urgency to project plan deliverables. Key attributes toward success include commitment to the team, an owner’s mindset, strong analytical skills, and effective writing and presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive the continuous improvement of approach on operational requirements under the RRP guidance, including processes that support integrity of mapping results that in turn are foundational to other areas of recovery and resolution planning
  • Remain current on regulatory guidance, including contributing to developing views on interpretation of guidance, and developing project plans to meet these requirements
  • Prepare presentations for executive committees and provide relevant responses to regulator inquiries
  • Prepare materials and lead RRP Shared Services working group in order to take forward initiatives to maintain and improve processes
  • Draft, review and edit relevant sections of recovery and resolution plans with the objective of creating clear and consistent messaging throughout relevant sections of the plans

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors or equivalent degree required;
  • 7-10 years of relevant financial industry experience preferred;
  • Strong quantitative skills including ability to understand modeling concepts and analyze data;
  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills, including ability to summarize significant volume of information;
  • Project management skills, including managing plan milestones and providing status updates;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WDesk, and data reporting tools such as Spotfire
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with executive management and regulators
