Senior Institutional Marketing Events Strategist â Vice President
Job Description
We are looking for a smart, dynamic, creative professional to join our iShares Institutional Marketing team. This position will help determine the overall event strategy for institutional clients and lead a variety of efforts: proprietary client events, virtual events, and third-party conference sponsorships.
This individual will work closely with the iShares Institutional sales team, BlackRock Events Management Team, third-party vendors, COO, and business leaders to provide the data and qualitative feedback needed to ensure all marketing activities produce a positive, and measurable, return on investment.
In addition to event planning and execution, this individual will contribute to the broader institutional marketing team by assisting with a wide range of campaigns and marketing projects: contributing to our content creation, content distribution, advertising, and marketing optimization efforts. As such, both pre-existing event-management skills, as well as a desire and capacity to learn, are required.
Responsibilities
- Lead proprietary events, webcasts, and third-party sponsorships strategy and execution
- Evaluate effectiveness of events and help determine the overall event strategy
- Ensure events are aligned with business priorities, messaging, and the overall institutional marketing goals
- Oversee on-site management of US-based events (limited travel may be required)
- Ensure the execution of proprietary events, webcasts and third-party sponsorships (planning, logistics, speaker prep, emails, etc.)
- Contribute to content creation, content distribution, advertising, and marketing optimization efforts.
- Help scale Institutional Marketing platforms to other regions and business units within BlackRock
- Liaise with speakers, organize, and manage event prep-calls. Adequately prepare all event attendees to ensure we effectively use our event spend
- Identify and execute marketing events designed to educate on iShares products and grow the marketable database across institutional client channels (Asset Owners and Asset Managers).
- Source of events and marketing expertise for the institutional channel business partners and leaders
- Planning, execution, and measurement of client webcast events
- Assist the team with projects designed to further segment and enhance the iShares institutional client database
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of events/marketing related experience
- Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, drive key initiatives, manage several projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Strong project management and execution skills and executive presence
- Previous experience managing events, conference sponsorships, and webcasts
- Experience developing/contributing to event planning (internal and external) and ability to design and oversee the execution of a first-class client experience
- Experiential event experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Highly effective in forging working relationships with team members and senior leaders
- Adaptive thinking with a focus on driving results
- Creative and self-motivated individual who works collaboratively in a high performance, team environment
- Investment/financial, brokerage, bank, investment manager, consultant, insurer, or pensions/endowment experience a plus.
- Knowledge or experience in the ETF industry is a plus.
- BA/BS
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 is a plus.
- CVENT experience is a plus.
- Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel
