The Vice President of Specialist Operations has An integral role as the leader of the regional team that analyzes industry trends and provides detailed oversight and sophisticated actionable solutions to senior leadership that incorporate all key management areas (talent, clinical, financial, and operations) for advancing American Health Networks vision for specialty care Indiana and Ohio. This role will be accountable for leading the development and execution of the operational and growth strategy that supports our strategic vision, growth initiatives and leadership principles. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong business, financial, and operational acumen within the healthcare industry.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches, as well as translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Actualize OptumCare’s core strategy of building of physician-led, value-based, ambulatory care delivery systems by developing and maintaining a “quadruple-aim” specialist provider network
  • Recommend, develop and assist in the strategic long-range planning process as it relates to all clinic departments in support of the clinics’ mission, philosophy and goals
  • Evaluate and makes recommendations for business development and expansion opportunities within assigned territories
  • Oversee the implementation of all expansion projects within assigned territories
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to management staff in establishing department objectives related to staffing, policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with leadership in the development and governs the annual budget for the clinic operations area and implements plans to achieve budgetary goals
  • Monitor compliance of all clinic metrics (Customer Service, Membership, Retention, etc.)
  • Provide continual process improvement including all clinic processes and/or services
  • Ensure all operational services meet regulatory and quality standards
  • Maintain professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to remain current in the changing healthcare trends as related to management of clinic operations
  • Use own proven domain / industry expertise to balance competing priorities in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Possess a good understanding of the healthcare industry from a physician, health plan, and hospital perspective

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years of experience with increasing management responsibility within clinic operations
  • An advanced understanding of clinic financials with the ability to analyze operations and continually implement efficient operational processes
  • Strong business acumen and proven strategic leadership skills
Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases is an employment requirement.
