Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations is responsible for ensuring Peak Vista’s ambulatory clinical operations meet organizational strategic initiatives, operational and performance goals and metrics. Highly skilled in conducting statistical analysis for multiple business decisions using a myriad of multivariate techniques and findings. In depth knowledge of physician practice acquisitions through employment, professional service agreements and joint operating agreements. This position is responsible for ensuring quality metrics are being met in accordance with industry standards in the delivery of patient care in an ambulatory healthcare environment. The Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations position requires in-depth knowledge of a multitude of ambulatory health care operations to include but not limited too; primary care to include integrated models, primary care medical home management, and specialty care operations. This position requires expertise in critical thinking and sound judgment in decision making, ability to balance multiple and diverse projects throughout the organization. Vast knowledge of ambulatory regulatory compliance relating to both state and federal healthcare guidelines and requirements. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as excellent leadership skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Partners with the Senior Vice President of Medical Operations to ensure clinical operations functions at the highest efficacy through the dyad model.
  • Oversees the development and successful implementation of strategic and operational plans in support of strategic and operational goals.
  • Provides strategic leadership to including anticipating, envisioning, maintaining flexibility and empowering others to create strategic and operational change in support and alignment of organizational objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with other Peak Vista leadership team members to meet operational needs and achieve stated objectives.
  • Interprets policies, objectives and operational procedures and represents them in a positive manner.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring all operations and programs initiating changes when necessary.
  • Participates in community outreach and networking.
  • Ensures staffing models are in place to ensure clinical operations functions at its highest efficacy.
  • Develops, implements and monitors statistical reporting systems that generate data on clinic utilization.
  • Develops innovative programs and procedures to be more responsive to patient needs.
  • Administratively responsible for assuring compliance with development of and continuous monitoring of quality assurance activities.
  • Develops and refines processes to continually improve department and clinic operations, employee and patient workflow
  • Oversees development of clinic metrics and annual operating plan and monitors performance.
  • Reviews patient safety events and assists in the identification and implementation of workflow improvements.
  • Leads strategies to enhance patient access.
  • Promotes high levels of satisfaction with patients, employees and providers. Develops and coaches a shared ownership for patient satisfaction.

Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. Enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improve goals.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing or other health related field required. Master’s degree is health related field is preferred.

Work Experience:
Eight years of practice management or ambulatory healthcare leadership, four years of senior leadership experience providing direct supervision required.
