The GEICO Underwriting & Product Management (UPM) team is looking for a results-driven professional with experience working as a Scrum Master. The department’s responsibilities are wide-ranging, including teams working on innovations in research and analytics, developing complex systems solutions, and supporting key business initiatives. As a scrum master, you will drive project management activities for teams covering these responsibilities using various Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban) to move projects forward from inception to successful completion, help the teams mature in Agile principles through coaching and mentoring, and support reporting on Agile metrics across the department. Job responsibilities:

  • Drive project management activities for teams using various Agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban
  • Coach teams, product owners, and leadership to effectively and continuously improve collaborative delivery of working products
  • Influence all levels of associates within the department and exhibit the values and behaviors of an Agile mindset
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to support department-wide initiatives to drive continuous improvement
  • Support reporting on Agile metrics across the department


Candidate qualifications:
  • 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience as a Scrum Master is required
  • Strong passion for improving processes that empower teams and focusing on making them more efficient
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM1) required
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred
  • Strong analysis skills and an aptitude for critical thinking is vital
  • Experience using an Agile project management tool (e.g. JIRA)
  • Outstanding organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, manage change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Passion to innovate and provide solutions for challenges encountered
  • BA/BS or relevant work experience is required


Salary information:
$85,000 to $107,000 annually depending on experience
