Regional Sales Manager

We are looking for a Sales Manager to help us build up our business activities for our 16-year old local high-end magazine, Village News Magazine (see VillageNewsVA.com). Are you ready to move up in a company? No standing still watching others make the grade. This time it is YOUR TURN!

Your Sales Executive responsibilities include discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining customer satisfaction. If you have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable reaching out to potential customers through email and phone then in person, we’d like to meet you. Please note: This is for an Outside Salesperson with experience in sales. You must also live in Hampton Roads, Virginia to qualify. The position will meet one to one with the decision maker. The one that has the authority to make buying decisions on advertising. That might be the owner, the partner, the Manager or someone else including the ad agency in charge of the account.

Responsibilities

  • Identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media. Our magazine is very high-end and is the target of Golf Course Communities with home values from $450k to well over $8m. NOTE: We are not a golf magazine. One of our advertisers coined it like Martha Stewart Living Magazine meets Home & Garden with a little Oprah magazine thrown in. We are a feel-good publication. We leave “Bad News” to other media.
  • Set up meetings with potential clients
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on advertising with us. Our magazine alone does a lot of the heavy lifting. We have won two national awards for our covers. We stand out in a crowd.
  • NOTE: we also act as your Administrator which includes: We do your billing / collecting / art discussion / art approvals and communications with your client. We do this so you can concentrate on selling. I love to do your paperwork, art approvals and everything you need to be successful. In other words, WE WORK FOR YOU! Oh, and we do this at no charge to you!
