As a seasoned, sales-driven Sales Director, this position is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling specific logistics solutions to corporate customers. The person in this position will maintain regular communication and contact with clients to provide heroic client support and ultimately meet/exceed monthly sales targets. This role is specific to the Greater San Antonio market and will be home-based, working remotely.
- Manage the AFS Customer Experience with existing/new customers within sales territory.
- Generate revenue by selling AFS products and services.
- Use consultative selling techniques to position appropriate sales solution.
- Understand all transportation modes in a supply chain and how they each support the client.
- Prospect, attract and secure new clients in their region.
- Generate leads by cold-calling in assigned areas, asking for customer referrals, attending tradeshows/networking events, and following up on all marketing leads.
The Sales Director will act as clientâs advocate during the development of solutions, also works with operations and pricing groups to develop pricing and proposal, reviews proposals with clients and advises client during decision-making process.
- Build a cross-functional relationship with all influencers in each account; for example, CFO, VP of Ops, Warehouse Manager, Procurement Leads etc..
- Utilize Salesforce to manage customer activities on a daily basis.
- Strong proficiency in performing in-person and remote customer demos.
- Work with all transportation mode managers to address carrier pricing issues and secure new carriers for customers as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships with C-level decision makers.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelorâs degree in business, management or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Five years or more of Transportation experience in LTL, Truckload, or Parcel/Express transportation sales with significant track record of revenue generation.
- Minimum of three yearsâ business development experience with 3PL provider or contract logistics provider.
