Position Summary

There is currently an immediate need to appoint a Regional Finance Director for Americas for the marine business, this division within Americas consists of 4 countries (6 legal entities) and a revenue of £40m. This role will report directly to the Marine CFO for the global marine business with a revenue of £300m worldwide and will be expected to engage with the Vice President for Americas as the Commercial Business Partner.
The Regional Finance Director – Americas will have full responsibility and ownership for the financial management of the Business Line and will be a member of the Americas Management Team. Specific responsibilities will include financial strategy, financial liquidity and planning, analysis and reporting as well as accounting, business intelligence, decision support and driving business performance. We are seeking an individual who can bring a strong intellect, and who can contribute both commercially and financially at Senior Management level.
The location of the position will be based in Fort Lauderdale and will involve travel to all operating units in the Americas region.
Specific Responsibilities

- Take a proactive leadership role as a prime Sparring Partner for the VP Americas at a senior level in the organization regarding any issue that upon or is impacted by the finance function.
- In conjunction with the Americas management team, manage process improvements and provide insights and recommendations in relation to the financial numbers & variances in order to drive results and enhance business performance.
- Work alongside the Americas management team in implementing cost & profit improvement initiatives and preparing business cases & capital expenditure requests.
- Drive a business culture that fully integrates the finance/accounts activity as a critical support for all business activities and enables the business to create revenue producing or cost reduction opportunities.
- Manage processes for strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation across the region.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities and guidance on commercial matters relating to sales, services, partnerships, M&A activities when needed.
- Drive a change and transformational environment with continuous focus in process, controls and systems improvements.
- Identify and drive efficiencies in Working Capital levels, maximizing operational cash conversion across the businesses with a focus of driving improvements in the Quote to Cash cycle process to reduce the time from quote to invoice, and subsequently cash collection.
- Lead a transformation program of the Finance department with a view of driving efficiencies into the Region in order to enable the business to improve pricing visibility, approvals, analysis, supply chain financing and margins.
- Set-up and manage the governance around strategic initiatives to drive further risk management efficiency, profitability and control working capital/ cash focused initiatives through transformation.
- Oversee the FX operations (currency, hedging) across the region.
- Oversee the preparation of financial performance reporting, including monthly, quarterly & annual reports.
- Ensure consistency and compliance of accounting treatment and reporting across the Region in conjunction with group policies and procedures.
- Ensure that there are adequate systems & controls to maintain the integrity of the accounting information, safeguard company assets and maximize financial performance.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization;
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Take responsibility for the preparation, control and audit of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets as well as ensuring compliance in conjunction with the Group Tax Director on tax matters.
- Oversee the external audit; review & analyze results and recommend for approval the audited financial statements.
- Liaise with a range of external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, on financial related matters.
- Development of local Operational KPI’s with on-going reporting and analysis to enhance business performance.
- Provide finance & business support input to tendering and contract negotiation activities, as required.
- Develop, and subsequently manage and motivate a high performing finance team with a ‘no surprises’ remit and take a leadership role for the development and promotion of talent both within finance and beyond, including the development of a successor from within the team.
Requirements

- Must be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA/ACMA or equivalent) with a strong financial accounting background and have a minimum of 8 years post qualification experience.
- Previous experience in working in a multinational company.
- Computer literacy – expert user of Excel and PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience in the service and/or distribution sector.
- Experience in reporting to IFRS guidelines, although not essential would be beneficial.
- Experience in managing finance teams.
- Fluent English (oral and written).
