Minimum Starting Salary: $68,666 to 90,983 per year, depending upon qualifications

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs administrative and professional work involving the pavement condition assessment and management on behalf of the City of Orlando. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities to ensure pavement rehabilitation activities and projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Project manager will act as the Pavement Manager for the City of Orlando and shall:
- Analyze and define the scope and budget of pavement preservation and stormwater projects with the Streets and Stormwater Division Manager and City Engineer.
- Work with the Purchasing Division in the preparation and development of IFB’s, RFP’s and/or RFQ’s in the solicitation for services such as FDR, Milling and Resurfacing, Curb work, etc
- Create Fiscal Impact Statements.
- Write City Council Agenda items to obtain authorization to negotiate with contractors or consultants.
- Sets-up and hold meetings with contractors/consultants to negotiate terms and conditions of contracts.
- Review plans, specifications and construction cost estimates within the Streets and Stormwater division.
- Monitor and approve construction activities such as change orders and invoices.
- Develop schedule of construction projects as a whole and in relation to specific job tasks.
- Manage consultant contracts to ensure adherence to scope and resolution of design conflicts.
- Interview and thoroughly reviews firm qualifications information for the ranking of proposals.
- Perform other duties as needed to facilitate the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives.
- Work is performed under the general direction of the Division Manager. Performance is reviewed on a periodic basis through both formal and informal meetings and reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management with four years experience in the area of design and project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver’s License required prior to employment. Professional Engineer License or an Architectural License is required.
DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
DOCUMENTATION OF PE AND/OR ARCHITECTURAL LICENSE MUST BE ATTACHED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.
