As a Manager of Applications Development you will manage an agile team of developers, testers, and analysts in the design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of critical systems at Premera. By closely collaborating with your peers, you will provide leadership to multiple agile (Kanban and Scrum) technical teams. In this role you will interact with employees at all levels across the organization.
What you’ll do
- Hire and manage a multi-disciplined team to deliver on short and long-term goals of the department
- Communicate company and department goals to the team and to provide consistent performance reviews, coaching and feedback to team members
- Provide recognition, coaching and development, feedback, and training to employees to develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to achieve their career goals
- Ensure development practices and procedures are followed and quality levels maintained, keeping abreast of technological developments and approaches
- Anticipate and develop technology strategies that align with the organization’s vision, mission and objectives
- Ensure delivery of high quality service, consultation, and product to customers through understanding of business needs and through the development of seamless transition of work processes across departments in the IT division
- Continually reassess the status quo and consider alternative solutions, best practices, and leading change and adoption of new processes and technologies
- Establish and operate within department budget
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or 4 years’ experience in information technology
- 7 years’ experience in information technology, application development, or systems development which includes previous program or team leadership experience
- Leadership and management skills with an orientation for action and results, with a proven ability to build, manage, and retain high performing successful collaborative work teams
- Experience working in or leading an agile delivery team
- Proven ability to coach and develop teams
