    Momentum Films is currently looking to hire a Lead Editor/Head of Post Production. Momentum is a baseball media company telling the behind the scenes stories of baseball players. We cover a wide range of productions from dinner talk shows to documentary series to shorter form productions made for social media to help build a stronger connection between the fan and player.

    This position will be in charge of the day-to-day operations and overall strategic development of the post production department. The primary function of this role is to insure that the department stays within budget and on schedule while maintaining high technical and creative standards. This role will be in charge of editing higher profile projects but will also oversee the constant stream of content that Momentum Films will be delivering.

    The ideal candidate with have a creative vision as an editor with a proven track record for delivery in a high-paced production deliverable environment. This position is for someone looking to break away from a traditional post production house and create a department based around the way they believe it should run based on our goals and vision. You will take the lead in setting up procedures and workflows to handle multiple projects concurrently. This position offers an area of growth and for a team to be built underneath you once you establish an efficient and consistent foundation for output.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership –

    • Creating and executing a long term vision for our post production department based on current workload with an eye towards rapid growth
    • Overseeing the quality and progress of edits with other editors

    Budget and Scheduling –

    • Determining and maintaining budgets on multiple projects of varying sizes
    • Establishing relationships with outside editors and post-houses, comparing bids, and overseeing cuts and final deliverables

    Mentorship –

    • Working with up-and-coming editors to integrate them into the technical workflow while helping them grow creatively

    Technical Duties –

    • Troubleshooting short term issues and identifying potential long term hurdles and diagnosing them beforehand
    • Working with our other department heads to ensure the post production process works efficiently and on budget
    • Creating, organizing and managing the entire digital asset life cycle, which includes:
    • *Ingesting multiple, simultaneous audio and video sources.

    *

    • *Maintaining, and streamlining workflows for the use of assets in all relevant distribution platforms .

    *

    • *Developing and documenting protocols for downloading, renaming, backing up, grouping, archiving, cataloging, restoring, optimizing, maintaining and exporting of all media assets.

    • *Designing, implementing, and maintaining metadata schemas that reflect the true needs of the business.

    • Direct asset library management

    Qualifications:

    • Possess visual creative storytelling abilities
    • 3-5 years of experience at a post production company with at least 2 years as an assistant editor
    • Self-starter – able to work independently
    • Share our entrepreneurial and disruptive mindset
    • Growth potential – interested in creating and leading a department
    • Proven problem-solver
    • Experience leveraging and improving internal tools and procedures a must
    • Understanding and interest in Major League Baseball and it’s current players
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as determined by MLB events and schedule
    • Have connections and experience working with post-production houses
    • Experience with organizing in-house servers at post production houses
    • Understanding of multiple NLE programs (Premiere, Avid, Davinci)
