California Sierra Express, Inc. is excited to announce an opening for a Human Resources and Health, Safety, and Security Director at our Corporate office in Reno, NV. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative person to become part of our team in this fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Overview
Under the general supervision of the President, the Director of Human Resources and Health, Security, and Safety (HSS) is responsible for the high-level oversight of all functional areas of Human Resources and Health, Safety, and Security. The Director of Human Resources and Health, Safety, and Security will investigate and bring to resolution any employee relations issues, health, safety, or security issues, and employee grievance or disputes; champion employee development; performance management; health, safety, and security; and employee engagement. This position will direct, evaluate and oversee staffing requirements, including employee hiring, on-boarding, ongoing training, and retention; educate and manage company leadership in order to support the operational goals of the company, manage and influence employee engagement and productivity; promote effective health, safety, and security practices for the protection of people, property, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in Human Resources in a HR Generalist type role
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources in the State of California
- 4 + years of experience in Risk Management or Health, Safety, and Security role
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources in a leadership role with direct reports
- Current and valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10-Hour Card
- Current SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
- PHR-CA/SPHR-CA, preferred
- AASP, BCSPC, or equivalent Health, Safety, and Security certification, preferred
- Experience in transportation field or similar, preferred
