King’s Ridge Christian School (KRCS), founded in 2001 by the Advancement for Christian Education is a PK-12 co-educational Christian day school that is accredited by SAIS. Summary Qualifications
The Head of Upper School’s primary responsibility is leading and managing all functions of the upper school. This includes leading, managing, and accountability for the faculty and administration in the upper school, which includes Department Heads, College Counseling, and Deans. King’s Ridge Christian School is looking for a dynamic leader who combines strategic thinking with organizational skills and strong communication. The Head of Upper School should have significant experience with curriculum, a proven track record with successful collaboration, and a commitment to academic excellence.
Essential Functions
  • All employees are expected to possess a strong Christian commitment, support the mission, passion, and vision statements of King’s Ridge Christian School, and contribute to the overall life of the school.
  • Direct and supervise the activities and job performance of the Upper School employees
  • Maintain Upper School Budget
  • Review and evaluate academic programs
  • Coordinate activities of department chairs and sponsors of student activities
  • Become proficient in the Harkness Pedagogy.
  • Oversee Upper School student school sponsored activities
  • Coordinate professional growth including classroom observation and performance appraisals
  • Consult teachers on classroom management
  • Ensure employees are familiar with and adhere to school policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular staff meetings
  • Provide a controlled learning environment
  • Coordinate with faculty to engage students and create fun learning environments
  • Promote academic rigor and faith sharing in all
  • Interact, engage, and communicate with parents
  • Create and uphold guidelines for proper student conduct and dress
  • Oversee the grading and report standards of faculty for students
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to build productive, long-term relationships
  • Exercises independent judgment, tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • 3-5 years as an administrative leader, preferably in an independent school
Education
  • Master’s Degree required
