Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • General management experience, including managing a team and attracting and growing talent.
  • Experience in building new businesses and in technology related partnership, sales and ecosystem development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with technology initiatives involving banks, payment platforms and retail.
  • Experience working with global partners, standards bodies or consortiums building joint solutions.
  • Experience working in physical retail, online commerce or small/medium businesses and experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Experience having built and grown products and/or vertical solutions from the ground up.
  • Understanding of complex partner and regulatory requirements at both a business and technical levels.
  • Thought leadership and executive presence. Ability to effectively communicate complex information to internal management and external partners/stakeholders and comfortably present in public forums and conferences.

As the Head of Payments in Americas, you will be responsible for building on the momentum Google Pay has developed to date. You will work closely with product, engineering, marketing and cross- functional teams to come up with a winning strategy for payments across the Americas region. You will build and manage business, partnerships, sales and operations teams focused on driving business growth, adoption and market penetration. You will possess a sales management background that enables you to lead engagements at the CxO level. You will work closely with external stakeholders like banks, regulators, and government officials and customers of our services/technology to grow the Payments business area for Google.

You are an excellent communicator with a proven ability to train and motivate a large team. You use an analytical approach to developing and running a business and are highly effective at working cross-functionally. You will be expected to represent Google as the “face” of Payments in the region via press and analyst engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage business, partnerships, sales and operations team for payments in the Americas.
  • Drive consumer and merchant growth for Google Pay Americas, working with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deepen engagement for key partner accounts within your territory and develop effective strategies in a competitive environment for Google Pay.
  • Work closely with the Google Pay Product and Engineering teams to help define a winning product vision for the Americas region.
  • Drive key industry, regulatory and government relationships in close partnership with Google’s Policy teams.
