The Head of Engineering, Core Platforms oversees the development and deployment of the platforms that power our consumer products on both web and within our apps, and our core advertising technology. Reporting to the SVP, Product Engineering, the Head of Engineering oversees all product development frameworks that are shared across products.

The Head of Engineering is both the technical and product owner of our core product platforms. In that role you will work with platform users across the organization and set the vision and roadmap for how those platforms develop. You are also an essential member of the engineering leadership team and will sit on the Product Engineering Leadership group.

Requirements & Skills

  • Leadership. Reputation for building and sustaining high performing engineering teams.
  • Technology Delivery Management. 5 or more years engineering and operations leadership experience in a series of progressive roles in fast-paced, dynamic companies. Deep technical skills covering architecture, engineering practices, performance, reliability, delivery and quality.
  • Deep experience in frontend technologies across web and native platforms with up-to-date knowledge of current frameworks and practices.
  • Engineering. Deep familiarity with modern architectures, frameworks, languages, and approaches to solving engineering problems.
  • Process. Familiarity with Agile principles, and ability to assist cross-functional teams in working collaboratively and effectively.
  • Breadth. Appreciation for all parts for the business, including commercial, editorial, product management, and design.
