Head of Business Sustainability â AIG Travel
Reports to: CEO of AIG Travel
- Responsible for facilitating and managing risk mitigation activities to drive and implement a consistent and effective approach to end-end risk management in AIG Travel.
- In collaboration with the AIG Travel management team, ensure appropriate First Line of Defense oversight and governance across the Global Travel line of business.
- In addition to being part of the AIG Travel management team, this position will work in a collaborative manner across the General Insurance companies and with the Operational Controls organization, General Insurance Assurance groups (e.g. ORM, Compliance, Audit, TRO), and Third Party Governance teams amongst other AIG risk management groups.
- Acts as a point of contact in the business, coordinating identification, assessment, control and mitigation of risks to the operating environment and promoting awareness.
- Collaborates with global AIG Travel colleagues and business/functional leaders to inform root cause analysis over control weaknesses, to develop and drive mitigation plans and business enhancements, and share lessons learned.
- Primary point of contact for AIG Travel to all Corporate AIG assurance function staff (e.g., ERM, ORM, Compliance, Audit)
- Leads in the development, reporting and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators.
- Promotes a culture that embraces open dialogue in assessing risks and evaluating controls.
- Fosters and continuously models a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization, and builds and reinforces an organizational culture of learning and inquiry as part of ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

Technical Skills and Expertise
- Minimum 12+ years of Insurance Operations (or Insurance experience), including demonstrable experience in developing and implementing process controls.
- Strong working knowledge of core insurance processes, particularly Travel Insurance underwriting, claims and distribution.
- Comfortable working with and a natural aptitude for data and reporting.
- Ability to deal well with ambiguity, conflict and difficult situations.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
- Global travel may be required.
- Bachelorâs degree required. MBA a plus
