driving a framework of guiding principles and activities (the D&I Roadmap) that enables global consistency and local contextualization, working closely with the wider D&I network

designing, developing and delivering all efforts related the Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Steering Committee (GDISC), our “think and action tank” co-chaired by Carmine Di Sibio and Karyn Twaronite, and managing key global enablers such as the Inclusive Intelligence Badge

developing EY D&I points of view, thought leadership and white papers, resources, materials and tools, and leadership messaging

designing and interpreting Global KPIs and metrics related to D&I, including designing measures, tools, data analysis, narrative development, and linking these to recommended actions for the business

embedding relevant D&I insights and actions in design and deliverables across functions, including Talent, Markets, etc
The team reports to the Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Officer and supports her activities by creating and delivering engaging executive presentations, data reports, communication materials for internal and external audiences such as the Global Executive, the Global Talent Committee, the Global Accounts Committee, Area Executive teams, key global clients,…
The opportunity
An Associate Director role has become available within our team. It is a unique opportunity for a senior, experienced field professional or consultant to join a team focused on engaging with key stakeholders both within the D&I, Talent and Markets arena, as well as with the regions and the overall operational and business community of EY. The role offers many opportunities to practice and develop key leadership skills around consulting, influencing, data analysis, executive communications, creating thought leadership materials on trending topics and driving large scale projects across geographies and cultures.
Your key responsibilities
This is a full time role in the Global D&I team. Location: ideally co-located with team members (New York, New Jersey for example, or London) and if not possible, it should entail the ability to work efficiently across time zones in a fully virtual team. There might be occasional domestic and international travel, pending on project requirements.
The Global D&I Associate Director role is an integral part of the global D&I team and supports EY as it realizes its global D&I priorities and related tactical aspects of key activities, including contributing to the development of high visibility deliverables and materials. This role has many aspects that are strategic in nature, but at times it can become tactical and execution focused, as necessary.
Essential functions include:

Ownership of specific ad-hoc global D&I projects. May be responsible for allocation of staff and budget resources to meet changing project/program needs

Design, development and delivery of content, materials and events related the Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Steering Committee
-
Driving global D&I activities and initiatives, including the preparation and execution of meetings and events
-
Leading project deliverables as needed for various leadership meetings (powerpoint presentations, status updates, data reports…)
-
Development of team’s internal and external communication activities and deliverables, including thought leadership materials and points of view on trending topics
-
Exploration of trending concepts, academic research, tools and solutions to support fresh thinking and action
-
Research of external speakers/academics/thought leaders in certain topics for the purposes of content or thought leadership development or for EY meetings and events, as well as interviewing potential external speakers or panelists to understand the relevance and applicability of their work to our D&I priorities

Development and delivery of D&I metrics and reporting activities

Driving the interface with key stakeholders including the wider D&I network, the Talent Executive as a whole and other key functions: BMC, Markets,… to embed an inclusive lens in core processes

Overall contribution to the Global D&I team’s deliverables, including contribution to Talent Executive and other functions’ processes and deliverables
Supervision responsibilities:
The individual will work in close virtual interaction with the Global D&I Directors. Regular team meetings are held to update on progress made and to surface potential challenges or blockers.
The role also includes supervising the tasks of other team members on an ad hoc basis, and assigning work to these individuals, in connection with the Global D&I directors.

Working “from the center”, necessitating the ability to listen to and integrate various perspectives and to influence rather than mandating

Working in a complex matrix environment, with the need to combine and often reconcile contradicting expectations from key stakeholders. The individual is expected to understand the challenges at hand and to consult with the Global D&I Directors, to determine how to navigate potential dilemmas

Maintaining sustainable engagement through virtual teaming and behind the scene activities
-
Working flexibly through different times zones. Sometimes our team members are required to be available during hours outside of the local regular business hours to accommodate calls with stakeholders or team members in different time zones

To qualify for the role you must have:

Proven ability to manage large complex projects ; experience of managing this type of projects involving many stakeholders, at EY or elsewhere

Strong organization skills with an ability to multi-task and to progress multiple projects in a same timeframe

Ability and agility to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Strong project planning skills and stakeholder management skills

Familiarity with topics in D&I and cross-cultural competency

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Ability to research/investigate external speakers/academics/thought leaders in certain topics and to draw conclusions on the applicability of their work to our D&I needs and priorities

Comfort level in assisting in preparatory calls with external speakers and engaging and collaborating with them to develop agendas for our D&I meetings and events
-
Advanced skills in Excel – being able to manipulate, transpose data along with good working knowledge of pivot tables, lookups and using formulas to populate and format data

Ability to work comfortably with numbers and interpret quantitative and qualitative data in excel and other tools, accuracy in handling data, and ability to deliver deep insights and create a narrative from the data

Advanced skills in Powerpoint – ability to understand the audience and design impactful, tailored presentations

Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously, and to maintain a strong virtual presence

Ability to work cooperatively with other teams, with Area and regional representatives, demonstrating a proven cultural sensitivity and adaptability to a matrix environment

Ability to navigate and use the global processes and procedures as required

Approximately 7-10+ years of related experience

Experience in more than one role or setting
