Director of Security and Company Security Officer
Position Summary
The Director of Security is responsible for leading all security operations of the company, including development, implementation and review of security policies, procedures, and regulations. The Director of Security will be charged with safeguarding all systems, PHI and intellectual property utilizing the most up to date tools and techniques and have the ability to lead compliance with and achievement of industry certifications. (EHNAC, HITRUST, CMMS, etc.)
Roles and Responsibilities
· Establish enterprise security standards through policy, architecture and training
· Constantly review, update and improve security policies
· Protect physical assets by developing security strategies; directing system control development and access management, monitoring, control and evaluation
· Lead Disaster Recovery/Business Interruption planning, analysis, implementation, testing and execution
· Lead renewal of existing and attainment of new industry or client required certifications in a timely, accurate manner
· Develop security strategy and collaborate with other departments to ensure proper execution without detriment to productivity or profitability
· Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements and assisting in budget planning
· Architect, design and implement core network, remote network infrastructure and Data Center
· Keep current with latest IT Security trends, particularly AWS Cloud Security
· Conduct periodic security audits and investigate breaches
· Lead hands-on, day-to-day security operations in with assistance from Senior Systems Administrator and Help Desk Technician
Security Officer
· Continuously monitors and recommends improvements to security, privacy and compliance environment
· Acts as the workplace monitor and performs security inspections to ensure employees adhere to Acceptable Use Policy.
· Acts as resource to enterprise on Security matters, incidents and response requirements
· Oversees Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan development, implementation and assessment
· Safeguards PHI, PII, computer systems and intellectual property
Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
· 10+ years of experience in IT systems and security
· AWS Cloud Security experience a must
· Experience in successfully completing industry certifications
· Healthcare technology experience
· Current certifications in information security (CISSP, CSSLP, CCFP, CISM) a plus
· Knowledge of best practices in hardware, infrastructure and security
· Excellent communication skills
