LiuGong Machinery Company is seeking a Director of New Product Development in our Global Mining Division. The position provides leadership and direction for all New Product Development (NPD) projects.

Job Description

• This position is responsible for end-to-end management of all current and future New Product Development Projects for the Global Mining Division. This requires close collaboration with all functional areas.
• Champion Phase Gate-based development process and Project Management discipline within Global Mining.
• Develop a keen understanding of customer needs and industry trends including technology trends.
• This position bears the primarily responsible for Global Mining’s product strategy. This must be developed in collaboration with other functional areas, especially Engineering. The position also plays a role in developing the overall business strategy for Global Mining.
• Support Engineering with development the annual budget for New Product Development.
• Develop relationships and networks across the organization, with customers and suppliers, and industry influencers.
• Coach and develop NPD project leaders.
• Travel up to 50%.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Agricultural Engineering or Business is required.
• At least 15 years of progressively responsible work experience in the Mining/Construction equipment machinery industry in one or more of the following areas: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Support.
• At least 5 years of experience directly leading New Product Development projects in Mining/Construction equipment machinery using a Phase Gate process.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, planning and organization skills, and strong analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated capability of working independently and staying organized while assuming multiple responsibilities and tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, solve problems, and deal with ambiguity

• Demonstrated experience in developing products in a global team environment.

Desired Qualifications

• MBA is preferred.
• Work experience in multiple functional areas is preferred.
• Work experience as a Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred.
