Job Summary
Looking for a hands-on leader with broad and deep technical infrastructure experience. The ideal candidate will be composed under pressure, a self-starter, can quickly assess priorities, engage resources and drive to resolution. They will be people-oriented, have strong communication and organizational skills, and enjoy solving issues within a fast-paced environment.
A successful candidate primarily will act in both a technology leader role, developing and improving our IT strategy, as well as, in a hands-on tactical role to follow through on the execution of such strategy. Manage other infrastructure and security IT support staff. Lead technical resource providing server/desktop management, cloud infrastructure, IT project management and able to collaborate with IT Applications Development Director. The Director of IT Infrastructure reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Responsibilities
- Implement and drive usage of best practices, standards, and methods for analysis, design, securing, configuration, testing, implementation, and operation of infrastructure
- Partner closely with other teams such as Facilities, Physical Security, Data Analytics and others to deliver cohesive solutions
- Lead a direct and indirect team, ensuring that we are recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and developing our talented team of professionals to achieve outstanding results
- Actively promote the core values of the company within the organization
- Communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing to all levels of the company regarding infrastructure activities
- Prepare and manage the operating and capital budgets and IT operating plans that maximize value creation
- Manage operational costs and conduct near and long-term financial forecasts
- Provide precise and cost-effective management of cloud services including AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms
- Manage vendor selection, negotiation, contracting, performance, and compliance. Prepare RFI, RFP, RFQ, contracts, and other documentation
- Participate in the review and prioritization of project portfolio providing trusted advice related to investments and information technology issues
- Ensure IT infrastructure, controls, operations, and related services meet requirements and are scalable, available, reliable, maintainable and secure
- Manage IT infrastructure assets including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
- Manage a mix of long-term projects and short-term service requests with a high degree of flexibility and effective delegation
- Develop and maintain a robust 24/7/365 support model
- Build and manage a disaster recovery plan in support of an overall business continuity program
- Manage the organization and its service levels with data and metric driven decisions
- Drive effective and efficient command of the fundamentals of managing traditional infrastructure
- Lead a comprehensive infrastructure roadmap that leverages technology trends to challenge and change the status quo
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of progressive and relevant experience in IT infrastructure and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred
- Breadth and depth of experience across physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure including Cisco network, security and communications, Hyper-V & VMWare, Failover Clusters, Secure VPN and Gateway, MS SQL Server, NetApp, MS-SharePoint, Dell EMC, AWS, Azure and similar technologies
- Provide Voice and Data Telecommunications support to ensure the operation of the hosted VoIP or equivalent, phone and call center technology.
- Function professionally under pressure with a strong sense of urgency, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines under sometimes ambiguous and often complex circumstances
- Experience cultivating and leading high-performance teams, creating innovation culture, and mentoring to develop team members
- Comfortable working with employees at all levels of the company. Demonstrates professional tact, good judgement, and discretion
- Must be highly articulate, from business and technical perspectives, and able to deliver proposals and presentations to a wide variety of audiences with conviction and passion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set. Demonstrates attention to detail, follow-up and has excellent organizational skills
