Summary
The person in this role will lead all project work for the Americas Human Resources function in partnership with functional leaders and in support of regional strategy and growth. This role also provides leadership and guidance to the HR support of the managed Select Service locations.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain onboarding process (including buddy system) for newly promoted and external HRDs – including organizing and facilitating a “live” orientation 2x/year in Chicago.

Develops and maintains an end-to-end process for all HR in support of hotel openings and transitions, including organizing and leading regular calls, identifying task owners, identifying risks and dependencies, etc. Acts as a point of contact Chicago-based resources and coordinates compensation and talent support for hotels in new markets.

Integrates functional project plans in partnership with HR project owners into roadmap view. Orchestrates across various HR stakeholders to ensure understanding of timelines, tasks, and completion of activities identifying risks to timelines. (Ex: payroll redesign project, productivity manager role redesign)

Collaborate with functional leadership to develop Americas HR leadership team meeting agendas, offsite meeting design (ex: regional HRD meetings), etc. Provide meeting planning and facilitation on particular project topics.

Identifies potential markets for consolidation to Area HR model, works with RVPs to socialize with leaders including completion of cost-modeling and identification of talent for key roles, conducts transition visit, builds and maintains 30/60/90 day plan in conjunction with local HR team.

Provides data points for supported HR audit and process review plans (HR “archer”), maintains schedule and process for both. Trains HR leaders in both.

Create and maintain an HR development curriculum for all levels, experiential for seniors, cohort-based for newer HR leaders.

Partner with Senior Manager, Communications and other subject matter experts to design and execute on toolkits for recurring critical needs (ex: union strike, job eliminations, etc.)

Partner with colleague culture team to action on the colleague experience survey, including support for regional teams to pull and analyze results.

Provide HR leadership and support to the select service managed portfolio.

Qualifications
Experience
-
10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 – 3 in a leadership role

Proven track record of results
Education

BA or BS in Human Resources, Hospitality or related field preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

SHRM SCP or other profession HR certification preferred
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Familiarity with all HR operating systems – EIS/Peoplesoft, Saba, etc.
