Position Overview:

As a key member of the HR leadership team, the Director, Diversity & Inclusion will be responsible for leading Goodyear’s continued work to develop and execute a company-wide diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy. This includes partnering closely cross functionally with the HR team (e.g., HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management), business leaders, and external partners to identify priorities, create a D&I strategy, manage implementation, track progress, and evolve the strategy to address company needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evolve company-wide D&I strategy in partnership with key stakeholders and aligned to business goals and objectives, with focus in areas of recruitment, talent management, leadership development, learning & development, associate engagement and retention;
  • Lead programs/plans/initiatives in partnership with the D&I team and HR teams; Ensure affirmative action plan compliance and incorporation in connection with Compliance Manager – NA.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and liaison to HRBPs and the business to educate, train and create strategic actions to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent;
  • Partner with Compliance & Ethics and EHS&S teams to prepare annual Corporate Responsibility Report.
  • Evaluate D&I strategy and progress through a data driven approach; Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of company D&I initiatives; Conduct research and benchmarking analysis, including monitoring and reporting on D&I topics, to identify best practices, and make recommendations for strategies and solutions in support of global D&I programs;
  • Create global index of D&I offerings and programs.
  • Partner with Communications to develop effective communications plan that includes regularly communication of internal and external diversity and inclusion initiatives, events, and progress;
  • Effectively communicate and present D&I strategy and initiatives to executive leadership and Board of Directors.
  • Evaluate and manage strategic and operating plans for Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and diversity councils with focus on growth and integration; Identify, build, and sustain community partnerships to support diversity and inclusion projects/plans/initiatives and business strategies.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 10 years of Diversity & Inclusion experience in positions of increasing responsibility and senior leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective D&I-related global initiatives and programs, particularly outside the U.S.
  • Advanced project management and data analytics experience.
  • Significant experience in change management and creating alignment with a diverse set of employees on a global level.
  • This leader must have a strong track record of influencing, inspiring team members and coaching in the areas of D&I.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Communications; Master’s degree preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to influence, build effective relationships at all levels of the organization, and balance interests of multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of research design, measurement and analysis and assessment methodologies.
  • Broad business acumen combined with deep functional knowledge of D&I best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. laws and guidelines related to diversity and familiarity with international labor and human rights laws.
