IU Kokomo’s Office of Academic Affairs seeks to hire a member of the faculty to serve in the role of director of the Applied and Community Research Center. The individual chosen to serve in this role will have one course reduction per year to complete the duties of the position. He or she will take on the role on January 1, 2020 and continue until May 31, 2020. The position is renewable at the discretion of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Full-time faculty member at Indiana University Kokomo.
Duties of the role are as follows:
A. Coordinate and plan board meetings
B. Oversee grants and funding opportunities for faculty
C. Plan and coordinate outreach activities and professional development events
D. Serve as the Indiana Campus Compact Faculty liaison for Indiana University Kokomo, and
member of the Center of Community Engagement at Indiana University Kokomo
E. Lead efforts to promote the center on campus to both faculty and students
F. Lead efforts to promote the center in the community with appropriate possible clients. This
involves contacting agencies and developing appropriate relationships
G. Act as initial contact for the center for all constituencies
H. Create and maintain documents and records for center
I. Maintain the ACRC web pages and social media accounts
J. Provide oversight of center projects
K. Issue written report to VCAA on center activities each year by December 31 for previous
academic year
L. Cultivate and maintain lists of interested clients, faculty, and students in the Center’s files.
M. Follow up at project conclusion to gather feedback from clients and researchers to support
the development of faculty and the center
N. Oversee the center’s budget, files, and reporting.
