A DAY IN YOUR LIFE AS A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR
As a Project Manager / Estimator, you are the face of Murphree Paving so you make an impression that will make clients want to work with us. You establish trust with potential customers as you create and deliver estimates for their residential, commercial, and public infrastructure paving projects. At our clients’ job sites, you assemble estimates based on material pricing, measurements, and the required crew size. The accuracy of your estimates is essential to our success. After clients accept estimates, you assume the responsibility for the project management of each project.
By managing your time effectively, you are able to work on a variety of projects at once. You schedule and coordinate project timelines, dates, and crew. Your great leadership skills assist you in managing project personnel. Out in the field, you ensure quality assurance at all times. When challenging situations arise such as bad weather or customer date changes, you easily adapt. Additionally, you complete all project paperwork including billing, purchase orders, data entry, and more. You collect on pay requests or private invoices. Keeping the whole process moving forward on time and on budget is what makes you a great Project Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, construction management, construction technology, or business
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a comprehensive drug test
- Physical capability to lift up to 65 lbs
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Available for occasional overnight and weekend work, and possible travel within an extended geographical region encompassing MS, TN, AL, AR

WORK SCHEDULE
During construction season about 9-10 months the typical schedule will be about 10-12 hours per day Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work. During winter months, we provide the opportunity for employees to work up to 40 hours a week.
