(FRL) provides Venture Catalyst space & services to tech start-ups, and is looking for a Community Director for our Hamilton Twp, NJ location. The Community Director will manage the daily operations of the FRL ecosystem. He/she is responsible for not just meeting, but exceeding, the expectations of all Venture Catalyst members, Innovation Space members, and Co-Working members.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Promote the FRL mission, vision, values, and value proposition, and sell Venture Catalyst and innovation space, as well as, co-working space, with a thorough understanding of Member Agreements and Contracts.
- Oversee new member move-ins, on-boarding, and coordinate Internal Branding training. Oversee member move-outs.
- Drive and cultivate a sense of community, involvement, inclusivity, and innovation with a hospitality mindset to ensure a positive member experience.
- Research prospective member businesses and create a customized value proposition that uniquely services the unique needs of each. Conduct community tours with prospective members, exercising discretion when warranted (considering if a prospective member would serve the best interests of our ecosystem at large).
- Network within the community to identify enterprise members for innovation workspace and meeting space.
- Communicate and collaborate with Community Operations (facilities) for the customization of new member office space.
- Facilitate member introductions and connections, both among fellow members as well as with business partners and FRL executive team members. Manage member expectations and address any member conflict that may arise in an objective manner.
- Hire, train, and manage Reception and Community Operations staff, being accountable for their professional representation of the FRL brand and their individual professional development and skills training.
- Plan, lead, participate in, and manage FRL events and community outreach efforts that create connections, including pitch nights, member enrichment classes, training/lunch & learns, happy hours, and volunteerism opportunities. Full event lifecycle spans from pre-planning to execution, to tear-down/clean up.
- Manage all member communication, both via traditional and digital platforms, including new innovations, perks, features, events, etc.
- Manage conference room bookings, including liaising with Culinary Experience and Community Operations.
- Process the receipt and distribution of member mail and parcels.
- Maintain all office supplies at acceptable inventory levels.
- Ensure that all preventative maintenance of business equipment is conducted, schedule repairs when necessary. Ensure that the community is at all times amazing, clean, fully operational, and that community standards of excellence are being met.
- Collaborate effectively with the CRO and other members of the FRL executive team. This includes the Director of Culinary Experience, who oversees all event catering.
- Work with the founding partners and executive team to set and achieve sales goals, occupancy percentages, and other KPIs. Manage the Community Budget.
- Cultivate a positive business relationship with all vendors and suppliers.
- Maximize the utility of all FRL software.
- Be aware of all fire and safety regulations, as well as, emergency preparedness.
Qualifications for this role include:
- BA or BS in business, hospitality, or a related field. MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of seven yearsâ experience in a sales &/or customer experience managerial role required. Experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in event planning, project management and business operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast paced tech infused environment, both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities with a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation. Friendly, detail-oriented, and dependable with a can-do mindset.
