To utilize DOC land, staff , offender labor and others resources in an effort accomplish the following: Support DOC Food Service, provide offender training that will support the reentry initiatives, as well as generate revenue to offset operational cost and contribute to the Commonwealth’s General Fund.

Coordinates all aspects of production to maximize resources, i.e., land, budget, personnel, facilities, equipment, and offender training at Deerfield Agribusiness Operations. Manages Agribusiness vehicle fleet statewide. Assist Agribusiness Director as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License. Prior experience in Production Agriculture and Best Management Practices. Broad knowledge of modern farm equipment operation and maintenance. Considerable Crop management experience. Good communication skills. Computer skills. Knowledge of pesticide use. Working knowledge of marketing. Working knowledge of equipment. Working knowledge of budgets. Knowledge of pesticides and its uses.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer a degree or post-secondary coursework from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent applicable experience or training. Pesticide applicators license preferred. Nutrient management experience preferred.

Special Requirements
