Summary Objective:
Build and lead the Aquatics Team to exceed expectations for aquatics revenue and services.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate swim instructors and lifeguards
- Create, promote, and evaluate aquatics programming, including swim lessons, coaching, and group and individual training
- Integrate new members and clients into aquatics programming
- Achieve monthly revenue and operating income goals for swim instruction services
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute Score Cards and Audit system to pass inspections and audits
- Execute emergency procedures, including but not limited to injuries, accidents, main water shut off, electrical panels, telephone room, and evacuation plans
- Operate financial systems including payroll and account payable systems
- Deliver budgets, financial reports, deadlines, and goals in keeping with company procedures and standards
- Conduct on-boarding and training for all direct reports
- Focus on sales and retention by understanding appropriate criteria and reports
- Effectively coach and discipline all direct reports in accordance with US Fitness policies and procedures
- Mentor swim instructors and lifeguards through new hire development program
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Conduct at least one group staff development meeting per quarter for swim instructors
- Introduce the most up-to-date, fun, safe, and efficient methods of swim instruction to instructors at all levels.
- Conduct at least one business development meeting per month per swim instructor
- Conduct formal instructor reviews quarterly and as needed
- Conduct Swim Instructor auditions as needed
- Oversee lifeguard emergency action drills quarterly
- Oversee and authorize lead distribution
- Track all swim lesson leads monthly
- Manage instructor renewal business on a monthly basis
- Organize monthly special events and demonstrations
- Implement all aquatics standard operating procedures
- Ensure the pool and spa comply with applicable state and local laws
- Audit and authorize all sessions through appropriate tracking systems
- Verify and approve all aquatics and lifeguard payroll bi-monthly
- Maintain personnel files for all instructors and lifeguards
- Resolve any issues to eliminate interruption of aquatics services to members
- Understand and follow employee standards of conduct and ethics
- Understand and uphold club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures
- Complete all in-house staff training as assigned
- Assume other duties as assigned
- Take on Swim Instructor and Lifeguard shifts as needed
- Work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed

Required Experience, Education & Certifications:

- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
