Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership:
The management, motivation and development of staff using target agreements and performance appraisals, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications to achieve the agreed objectives. Ensure necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided. Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensure implementation.

Strategy and Management:
Assist with developing a strategy for the overarching organizational unit and devise, agree and implement further strategic development for the Level-2 unit. Contribute plans and ideas for technology, staffing, capital investment etc., obtain agreement for them, communicate decisions to subordinate managerial staff and ensure they are implemented. Manage the center with regard to targets and key performance indicators and ensure reporting capability in partnership with the functional areas.

Planning and Controlling:
Plan, agree and manage the budget and headcount in accordance with key performance indicators. Monitor compliance with budget targets, introduce and supervise cost-cutting measures where necessary, in liaison with the line manager, and develop an awareness of costs among staff.

Production Quality and QM Release:
Carry out audits at the plant and also obtain information about the quality of the product and production at the plant from external sensors. Identify deviations from the specified standard at an early stage, identify the causes, instigate remedial action and have its effectiveness checked. Initiate escalation procedures as and when necessary. Coordinate reports about all relevant quality data at the plant and provide an efficient flow of information within the plant. Take responsibility for the

QM release of products for new model projects and model years to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

Quality Standard:
Work with MO/QM, NAFTA Hub and consult with Development, Planning and Production to provide, communicate and ensure compliance with a consistent, customer-relevant, mandatory quality standard which takes account of the technical und commercial conditions.

QM Analysis and QM Projects:
As a neutral body, ensure that a wide-ranging analysis of causes is carried out, specify remedial action and measures to avoid future errors and arrange to have the implementation monitored.
Initiate, plan and manage projects within the plant to avoid future quality complaints.

Product Creation Process:
Feed information gathered from the current series into the product creation process within the scope of the cooperation models described.

Quality Management Representative (QMB) for the plant and QM system:
The QM manager is the QM representative for the plant and consequently is responsible for establishing and monitoring the effectiveness of the whole QM system in the plant and for its continuous improvement. Further develop the QM system in the plant with regard to product, process and system quality together with Quality and ensure that the quality standard is monitored. As QM representative, ensure that the plant’s processes are eligible for certification under TS16949 and other applicable statutory requirements with the support of Quality. Provide qualified advice to the centers when the methods are introduced and implemented.

Qualifications

Minimum Level of Education

(Note: Engineering and/or IT MUST require technical degrees)

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in:

Engineering

(Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience)


Professional Experience

A minimum of ten (10) years’ of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):

Quality experience, especially in automotive industry.

5 years’ experience as a Senior Manager or Manager.


Required Skills

Significant experience in developing and implementing a technology strategy as an integral part of an organization strategy.
Experience in leveraging continuous improvement processes, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
Accomplished professional and proven leader, displays interpersonal and communication skills indicative of the ability to articulate ideas and influence people.
Strong analytical skills, the ability to understand key business levers and customer needs, and to create strategies that solve business issues.
Ability to develop and effectively translate plans into operational objectives, and achieve objectives through a team and cross-organizationally.
