GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manages, coordinates, and direct the operational activities of the Wire Transfer Department, ensuring that proper procedures, systems and controls are in place to minimize risk and mitigate loss to the bank and our customers. Ensures quality service and effective operations to support all functions within the Wire Transfer operations. Remains current on state-of-the-art processes, technology and products in order to identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency, service delivery to internal/external customers and strengthen controls. Administers corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensures compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and all rules and regulations as warranted for this position.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Manages the high-risk team responsible for processing of all Wire Transfer activity.
  • Ensures that proper procedures and controls are in place and active to mitigate risk to the Bank and to our customers. Ensures that all departmental policies and procedures are current and updated per Bank policy.t current
  • Participates in the review and recommendation of operational systems and procedures affecting Wire functions within the bank, coordinating systems conversions from an Operations perspective.
  • Ensures the department responds in a timely manner to both internal and external customer requests for support
  • Monitors departmental compliance with established Service-Level Agreements for all relevant processes within department. Works closely with internal/external clients to continuously pursue improvement in service levels.
  • Manages program initiation and projects that have direct relevance to the Wires function. Participates as an SME for similar initiatives launched by other functions and divisions.
  • Anticipates internal and external factors impacting the Wire Transfer function and implement plans to mitigate risks to the Bank and to our customers
  • Demonstrates industry engagement in the payment industry through active membership in working groups aligned with the Wire Transfer function
  • Acts with diligence in identifying issues/risks, and process gaps; drives implementation of new processes and solutions to address
  • Assists the departmental team in processing wires when needed; ensures that team workload is managed daily, using experience, judgment, and statistical analysis of volume arrival patterns
  • Evaluates staff performance and provides feedback via formal and informal discussions on a frequent basis
  • Provides support, coaching and leadership to department/direct report.
  • Manages and/or escalates performance issues; partners with Human Resources to properly address/document corrective action issues and warnings
  • Validates the completion and accuracy of daily, monthly, and quarterly settlements, and monthly management reporting of departmental activities
  • Performs duties as needed to assist division management and other areas of the organization.


Required Education/Experience:

  • College degree required


Preferred Education/Experience:

  • 10 years of banking experience with a minimum with a concentration in Wire Transfer Operations strongly preferred.
