Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) is seeking a talented and resourceful full-time business development leader to join our team of qualified, talented, and diverse individuals. This leader will be accountable for the sales organization performance, the profitable achievement of sales organization goals, and for aligning sales objectives with business strategues.

Responsibilities

  • Continue to expand FTI’s business base of sustainable, profitable business, consistent with corporate goals.
  • Review, make recommendations and assist in implementing FTI Federal’s Strategic Business Plans. Those plans will help define the milestones over the next several year for FTI to reach growth levels not typical in the industry or FTI past. The plans will focus on utilizing FTI’s unique Phase III SBIR position and its associated sole source capabilities to support an ever increasing customer list.
  • Become very knowledgeable of FTI’s technologies, tools, current and past contract performance, available or potential contract vehicles, subject matter experts, and so on, for the purpose of qualifying potential business opportunities as consistent with FTI corporate business goals and objectives. This will give you a thorough understanding of the capabilities and offerings of FTI.
  • Get the capabilities and offering message out to the various potential customers to assure FTI serves those customers’ best interest in ways that others cannot. That will involve working with clients to develop programs that create Phase III Decision Support IDIQ contracts that have ceilings in excess of $100,000,000 and then working with individual client organizations to acquire funding to be used within the vehicles. Work with other FTI Corporate Staff to put in place new FTI leadership to execute the Programs that you have helped develop.
  • Be especially adept in making personal/ professional connections, establishing business-relevant relationships, and networking all relationships in such a way as to proactively foster business growth in current markets and expand business into new markets or customer sets.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the current and prospective marketplace in which FTI conducts and plans to conduct business. This is primarily the Federal Government marketplace, including especially the Department of Defense (DoD) and its Services and other components, NASA, DOE, and the major commercial players within this space.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of understanding and proficiency in dealing with the issues related to classified Defense information, and the FTI trading partners that deal with classified information.
  • Leverage FTI Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) analysis methods, tools and contract solutions to study problems and but solutions in place.
  • Interface with government personnel, companies and other entities to discover problems and put solutions in place.
  • Interface with FTI business development and operational personnel to grow new work
  • Present FTI capabilities and contracting solution
  • Populate and mature leads in the FTI business development opportunity pipeline.
  • Help negotiate FTI teaming agreements.

Education/Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to maintain a government security clearance
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 20+ years actively working in the DoD or government environments
  • Experience creating and developing business development leads and growing work.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams (i.e. project manager, logisticians, engineers, program analyst)
  • Ability to work independently with geographically dispersed team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools
